Though it's not technically spring yet, it's in full swing around our house (the super warm temperatures have helped to fuel that as well). We have tons and tons of Easter and Spring activities, treats, and lunches just waiting to be cooked up around here and I can't wait to share them all!
To go along with our spring spirit, here's what Alexis had for lunch today:
She had so much fun playing with the chick & its egg. She kept opening and closing it saying "Now he's hiding...Now he's hatched!"
The chick and egg is turkey and cheddar cheese on a whole grain tortilla. I cut the shape with my egg-shaped cookie cutter then hand cut the "crack" in the egg. The chick's eyes are broken bits of cereal, and his beak is cut from a banana. He's sitting on blueberries, I'm not sure what they are supposed to be since nests aren't blue, but they looked nice and gave him a base to perch on.
The sweet red flowers are raspberries, decorated with cereal. The stems and leaves are drawn with an edible marker.
The sun is a cup of peach-applesauce with banana bits that I cut to make the rays.
The butterfly is made of blueberries and banana (circles cut in half) and his antennae are each a piece of cereal that I broke in half.
